FREDERICKSBURG DISTRICT: EARLIER I-95 CRASHES CLEAR IN STAFFORD, BUT CONGESTION PERSISTS
I-95 southbound has reopened at exit 136 (Centreport Parkway), and I-95 northbound has reopened at exit 140 (Courthouse Road), but recent crash within hour on I-95 northbound has closed lanes again near exit 133 (Route 17)
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Interstate 95 southbound in Stafford County has reopened to traffic near exit 136 (Centreport Parkway) after an earlier crash, and Interstate 95 northbound in Stafford near exit 140 (Courthouse Road) has also been cleared at the site of disabled tractor-trailers.
Within the past hour, a new crash at exit 133 (Route 17) in Stafford has again closed lanes at that location.
Motorists are urged to avoid I-95 in the Fredericksburg area due to significant congestion, and to assist crews with clearance of existing vehicles.
Significant I-95 southbound congestion still exists approaching the scene of exit 136 (Centreport Parkway), and may take time for the queue of vehicles to be cleared even as lanes are open.
The latest information on lane reopenings and traffic will be available on 511Virginia.
