EMERGENCY DRAINAGE PROJECT COMPLETE ON LADYSMITH ROAD IN CAROLINE COUNTY
Ladysmith Road reopened to through traffic this afternoon between S. River Road and Scott's Lane
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Route 639 (Ladysmith Road) in Caroline County reopened to through traffic today at May's Run as crews finished an emergency drainage repair.
Ladysmith Road had been closed with a detour posted since early April.
VDOT and its contractor repaired a large box culvert to ensure the stability of the road, and to maintain the drainage system.
Approximately 3,400 vehicles a day travel Ladysmith Road, according to a 2019 VDOT traffic count.
