UPCOMING WORK ZONES ON NORRIS BRIDGE
Route 3 travelers can expect brief delays crossing the Rappahannock River between Lancaster and Middlesex counties on Tuesday, July 27, and Monday, Aug. 2 – Friday, Aug. 6
UPDATE: All lanes of Route 3 will be open on the Robert O. Norris Bridge over the Rappahannock River on Tuesday, July 27. A scheduled work zone for removal of utility equipment is no longer required.
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Route 3 travelers can expect brief, daytime delays crossing the Robert O. Norris Bridge over the Rappahannock River for two upcoming work zones.
On Tuesday, July 27, traffic will be reduced to a single lane on the bridge from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dominion Energy is scheduled to complete final activities associated with the removal of utility equipment from the bridge.
On Monday, Aug. 2 through Friday, Aug. 6, traffic will be reduced to a single lane from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and its contractor will use be identifying locations for future, spot structural steel repairs on the bridge as part of routine maintenance.
Lane closures have been scheduled weather permitting. Message boards are posted at both bridge approaches to alert travelers to upcoming work zones.
