TAVERN RUN ROAD CLOSED FOR EMERGENCY REPAIR IN WESTMORELAND
Road will remain closed to through traffic for several days as VDOT crews repair flooding damage to drainage pipes

April 27, 2021 UPDATE: Tavern Run Road has reopened to traffic following an emergency repair. 

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Route 616 (Tavern Run Road) in Westmoreland County is closed to through traffic at Tavern Run after flooding damaged several drainage pipes.

The road is anticipated to remain closed for several days as Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) crews repair the pipes.

Motorists should follow signs posted along the recommended detour route:

  • Route 203 (Oldhams Road)
  • Route 604 (Sandy Point Road)
  • Route 615 (Jerusalem Church Road)

Travelers can find real-time updates on the road's status on 511Virginia.
