ROUTE 628 (WINDING CREEK ROAD) REOPENS IN STAFFORD COUNTY
Winding Creek Road has reopened to through traffic between Embrey Mill Road and Walpole Street following private development road work

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Route 628 (Winding Creek Road) in Stafford County reopened to through traffic today between Route 733 (Embrey Mill Road) and Route 1947 (Walpole Street).

The road was closed in March 2021 for construction accomplished under permit by private development, as part of a proffer agreement with Stafford County.

Winding Creek Road was slightly widened, with each travel lane expanded to 12 feet from the existing 10 feet. A 6-foot gravel shoulder was built on each side.
