I-95 SOUTHBOUND CLOSED IN STAFFORD COUNTY
Southbound traffic is being detoured at exit 133 (Route 17) due to a multi-vehicle crash involving an overturned tractor-trailer at the Rappahannock River Bridge

UPDATE (8:40 a.m.) A single lane has reopened on Interstate 95 southbound at the Rappahannock River Bridge around mile markers 131-132 in the Fredericksburg area. The detour at exit 136 (Centreport Parkway) in Stafford County has been lifted.

Southbound motorists should expect delays near the scene of the multi-vehicle crash to continue, as crews work to remove a tractor-trailer from the shoulder. VDOT crews have treated the interstate with sand and salt prior to reopening travel lanes.

UPDATE (7:40 a.m.) The detour for the Interstate 95 southbound closure for a multi-vehicle crash at the Rappahannock River bridge has been revised. All southbound traffic is now being detoured at exit 136 (Centreport Parkway) in Stafford County, where motorists can access Route 1 southbound. The detour route has been revised to allow VDOT crews to apply treatment materials to the interstate travel lanes and bridge approaching the crash scene.

All southbound traffic is being detoured at exit 133 (Route 17), where motorists can access Route 17 Business (Warrenton Road) to Route 1 southbound.
