I-95 NORTHBOUND CLOSED IN SPOTSYLVANIA
All lanes are closed for a crash north of Exit 118 (Thornburg) involving an overturned dump truck and a tractor-trailer
10:45 A.M. UPDATE: All lanes of Interstate 95 northbound have reopened at mile marker 119, north of Exit 118 (Thornburg), in Spotsylvania. Travelers should remain alert for emergency responders continuing to work along the interstate shoulder to clear the earlier crash scene. Expect residual northbound travel delays as congestion clears. Check 511virginia.org for updates on congestion.
10:20 A.M. UPDATE: A single lane has reopened on Interstate 95 northbound at mile marker 119 at a crash scene north of Exit 118 (Thornburg) in Spotsylvania. Two northbound lanes remain closed. Expect significant northbound delays approaching area. Around 6 miles of congestion exists leading up to crash scene.
Through travelers to destinations north of Virginia may also consider using Exit 104 (Carmel Church) to Route 207 and Route 301 as an alternate route.
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Interstate 95 northbound is closed in Spotsylvania County at mile marker 119, north of Exit 118 (Thornburg), for a crash involving an overturned dump truck and a tractor-trailer.
Northbound I-95 motorists can expect significant delays approaching the Exit 118 area, and along Route 1 in Spotsylvania's Thornburg area.
