VISTA WOODS SUBDIVISION PAVING BEGINS IN STAFFORD COUNTY
Crews will begin work on Thursday, May 28 to resurface and improve state-maintained roads in the neighborhood through late June
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Residents and travelers in the Vista Woods subdivision in Stafford County are asked to be alert for construction crews working in the neighborhood over the next month as the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) resurfaces state-maintained roads to improve the ride for motorists.
Work will begin on Thursday, May 28, weather permitting. Through late June, residents can anticipate temporary lane closures, flagging operations and brief delays on Mondays through Fridays between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
The project has several phases. First, crews will eradicate existing lane markings over several days. Next, crews will spend approximately one week repairing portions of the existing roads to provide a smooth foundation for fresh asphalt.
Paving will occur next, and the application of asphalt will require around two weeks of work. After streets have been paved, crews will paint final lane markings and apply fresh shoulder stone as needed.
Construction crews will place “No Parking” signs on affected streets at least three business days before work begins to notify residents of specific days parking will be prohibited.
