I-95 NORTHBOUND LANE CLOSURES TONIGHT IN STAFFORD COUNTY
I-95 northbound traffic will be reduced to one lane then diverted to temporary median lane near Exit 133 (Route 17)
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Interstate 95 northbound travelers should anticipate delays with overnight lane closures near Exit 133 (Route 17) in Stafford County as crews prepare to lift the bridge beams for the new Truslow Road overpass.
A single lane will close on I-95 northbound at 9 p.m. followed by double lane closures at 10 p.m. near the Exit 133 interchange to allow crews to a move a crane into place for the bridge beam placement.
Shortly after 10 p.m. with the assistance of Virginia State Police, I-95 northbound traffic will be reduced to a single lane then diverted into a temporary lane in the median. Motorists will then be shifted back to the travel lanes before Exit 136 (Centreport Parkway).

The Truslow Road overpass is being replaced as part of the I-95 Express Lanes Fredericksburg Extension project.
Weather permitting, lane closures on I-95 northbound are scheduled at the following times:
Tuesday, Sept. 15 – Wednesday, Sept. 16
- 9 p.m. – 10 p.m. – Single lane closure
- 10 p.m. – 4:30 a.m. – Double lane closure, with single lane of traffic diverted into median
- 4:30 a.m. – All lanes open
If there is inclement weather, the work zone will be postponed to the following evening, Wednesday, Sept. 16 into early Thursday, Sept. 17.
Message boards will be posted along I-95 northbound to alert motorists to delays ahead.
Virginia State Police will assist with traffic control in the work zone.
