DETOUR ON BLOCK HOUSE ROAD CONTINUES NEXT WEEK IN SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY
Through traffic will be detoured 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, March 30 and Tuesday, March 31 to allows crews to finish bridge deck replacement at Ta River
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Route 648 (Block House Road) in Spotsylvania County will close at the Ta River on Monday, March 30 and Tuesday, March 31 to allow crews to complete a bridge rehabilitation project.
Block House Road will close from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. The road will be open to through traffic at all other times.
This week, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) state forces bridge crew began a project to replace the deck of the existing Ta River bridge to improve its condition. Due to rain earlier this week, several additional days of work have been scheduled for next week.
Signs will be posted to guide motorists along the recommended detour route:
- Route 738 (Partlow Road)
- Route 208 (Courthouse Road)
Approximately 1,400 vehicles a day travel on Block House Road, according to a VDOT traffic count.
