EXPECT ROUTE 1 DELAYS AT FALMOUTH BRIDGE NEXT WEEK
Routine bridge inspection will be underway with lane closures at Rappahannock River on Monday, Oct. 21 through Thursday, Oct. 24
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Travelers on Route 1 in the Fredericksburg area can expect brief daytime delays next week on the Falmouth Bridge over the Rappahannock River due to a routine bridge inspection.
The inspection will be underway on Monday, Oct. 21 through Thursday, Oct. 24, weather permitting.
Motorists can expect lane closures on the Falmouth Bridge at the following times and locations next week:
Monday, Oct. 21 and Tuesday, Oct. 22
Route 1 northbound
8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Single lane closure
Wednesday, Oct. 23 and Thursday, Oct. 24
Route 1 southbound
8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Single lane closure
Additionally, overnight lane closures are scheduled on Falmouth Bridge next week for repairs to the bridge's travel surface:
Sunday, Oct. 20 - Wednesday, Oct. 23
Route 1 northbound and southbound
8 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Single lane closures
The Falmouth Bridge carries Route 1 over the Rappahannock River between the City of Fredericksburg and Stafford County.
