ELLISVILLE DRIVE BRIDGE REHABILITATION STARTS JUNE 17
Drivers advised to follow posted detour during two-month closure

CULPEPER — The Virginia Department of Transportation will rehabilitate the Route 669 (Ellisville Drive) bridge in Louisa County over White Creek.

Beginning June 17, the road will be closed to through traffic at the bridge with a posted detour.

The existing bridge, located about 0.7-mile from Route 613 (Oakland Road), was built in 1948 and has a 10-ton weight restriction. Once construction is complete in mid-August, the bridge will be open to all legal loads.

About 1,200 vehicles travel this section of Route 669 daily, according to a 2018 count.

For more information about Virginia’s bridges and VDOT’s bridge inspection program, including current conditions of the state’s bridges, FAQs and video of a bridge inspection, visit VDOT’s website, http://www.virginiadot.org/info/Bridge.asp.
