VDOT Bristol Organizes Touch a Truck Event
Scheduled for Saturday, October 14 from 9 a.m. – Noon at Highlands Fellowship Church |in Bristol (134 Commerce Court)
BRISTOL - The Virginia Department of Transportation’s (VDOT) Bristol District and other state and local agencies will hold their second “Touch a Truck” event October 14 from 9 a.m. until noon at Highlands Fellowship Church, located at 134 Commerce Court in Bristol.
The event is free and open to the public and will be held rain or shine.
The event gives emergency service organizations the opportunity to talk with the public about safety, and to remind them of the state law requiring motorists to slow down or move over when they see emergency vehicles with blue or amber lights working along the highway. It also provides the opportunity for children to get an up-close look at some of the vehicles VDOT uses daily to perform maintenance work, in addition to vehicles such as fire trucks, an ambulance and other emergency response vehicles.
For more information, contact VDOT’s Rusty Bevan at (276) 623-3410.
