VDOT sets public meeting for proposed Route 83 roundabout in Clintwood area (Dickenson County)
Thursday, June 23 from 4-6 p.m. at Dickenson County Administrative Offices
BRISTOL—This month, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will hold a location and design public meeting for the proposed construction of a roundabout where Route 83 and Main Street meet in Clintwood.
The open house format public meeting will take place Thursday, June 23 from 4 – 6 p.m. at Dickenson County Administrative Offices, located at 818 Happy Valley Drive in Clintwood. The project website includes the same materials that will be available at the public hearing: https://www.virginiadot.org/Route83roundaboutClintwood.
Design is underway to replace the traffic signal at the intersection of Route 83 and Route 607 (Main Street) in Clintwood with a roundabout. Roundabouts have been found to enhance safety and efficiently move traffic through intersections.
