VDOT plans location and design public hearing for Progress Park Connector in Wythe County
BRISTOL—On November 16 at 5 p.m., the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will hold a virtual location and design public hearing for the proposed Progress Park Connector.
A location meeting at the county level was held in 2015 and the design public meeting conducted by VDOT was held in 2021; however, the need to re-advertise and hold a virtual location and design public meeting is necessary to ensure public awareness of the “location” portion of the discussion. “Location” was omitted from a previous advertisement and this meeting corrects that omission.
The virtual/online public meeting will take place at 5 p.m. Tuesday, November 16 and will be accessed by visiting the Progress Park web page at https://www.virginiadot.org/ProgressParkConnector (please log on a few minutes before 5 p.m.) The project website includes all project information, materials and the presentation document that will be reviewed during the virtual meeting.
The proposed Progress Park Connector would construct a 2.3-mile two-lane roadway from the intersection of Nye Road to the intersection of Route 792 (E. Lee Trinkle Drive), providing a direct connection to Progress Park industrial area.
During the meeting, three location options will be reviewed, as well as the preferred alignment.
Comments regarding the Progress Park Connector can be provided to VDOT until November 30, 2021 via the following methods:
