BRISTOL—The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will hold a design public hearing this month to review plans for intersection improvements at Routes 11 and 16 in Marion.

The public meeting will be held August 17 from 4 – 6 p.m. at Marion Town Hall, located at 138 West Main Street in Marion.

Additionally, there is a virtual public involvement opportunity available at https://www.virginiadot.org/Route11and16improvementsMarion . The webpage includes a presentation and all the documents that will be available at the August 17 public meeting.

The in-person meeting and virtual public involvement web page provide the opportunity to review the proposed project plans that includes improving the turning radius where Route 11 and Route 16 intersect, changes to traffic flow from Pendleton Street to Route 11 and pedestrian facility improvements.

VDOT encourages all interested citizens to attend the August 17 meeting at their convenience anytime between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. There will be no formal presentation.

Comments can be provided to VDOT until August 27, 2021 via the following methods:

- Online survey from the public meeting page. Additionally, a PDF comment sheet to print, fill out, and mail is also provided.
